Return to the Wood - 10 January 2013

A return to Mere Sands Wood today having not been here for far too long. Always more of a pleasant stroll than a 'proper' walk, it does give you lots of time to visit all of the hides and take everything in.

No Bittern (not even sure they are here yet) but plenty to keep us happy as we ticked off 22 species - Mallard, Robin, Blackbird, Crow, Tufted Duck, Shelduck, Moorhen, Coot, Goosander, Grey Heron, Teal, Great Tit, Coal Tit, Blue Tit, Nuthatch, Shoveler, Tree Sparrow, Reed Bunting, Bullfinch, Chaffinch, Dunnock and Great Spotted Woodpecker.
