These salt-marsh grazers either don't have the brains to escape a high tide or they actually like a dip. Although judging by their various part-shorn states, they may just be avoiding the farmer!
Back to the birds and my count for the day was... 1 Little Egret, 7 Heron, 12 Canada, 54 Mallard,
212 Curlew, 2 Mutes Swan, 2 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 34 Cormorant, 73 Lapwing, 266 Dunlin, 2 Common Sandpiper, 120 Oystercatcher, 59 Shelduck, 1 Raven, 2 Curlew Sandpiper, 15 Ringed Plover, 2 Shoveler, 1 Great Crested Grebe and 1 Wheatear.
